It was the moment for a prank too naive;
By wanting to be flirtatious,
I ended up attracting more than one heart.
It was a youthful madness
That never went beyond platonic love.
The shyness of a glance and a smile
Only managed to inspire more than one guy.
That memory from the past,
Me as a young, ignorant girl,
Today makes my heart beating gentile.
There are faces I have forgotten
While others still live on from time to time.
In that era when social media didn't exist,
Young girls like me relied on our cleverness
In the present moment,
On handwritten letters
Written on notebooks and journals.
And my brave suitors from the past?
Phone calls to my home when my parents answered,
They asked them for their permission first...
Can I ask your daughter out?
